Q. Hello Chris!

I am an ex full time Pastor from a Charasmatic church in Mumbai and I came out of the apostate church in Dec 2002 which caused great unrest among the other pastors and the congregation and Now am working to earn my living and we had formed a reformed church in my house but when I read Harold Campings teaching on Depart out I was convicned that the church age is over and we are in the great tribulation, but however I am not convinced that there is a huge multitude being saved, must be in USA but where I live in Mumbai I have searched everywhere and have questioned family radio to find a fellowship(a brother or bible study group) here in Mumbai but I have found none.I don't see anyone saved here, even the people who departed out with me from apostasy have left having loved the present world and also in a reformed website www.mountainretreat.org I came accross many reformed people in the message forum who still believe church will continue till the end,What I see is opposite of what you are saying that many people are being saved, also I don't agree with Mr.Camping and you giving date setting that 2011 is the year Christ will return,Can you pls explain from Scriptures how do you come to such a conclusion and if Christ doesnt return in 2011 you and MR.Camping will be the cause of downfall of many, please don't give date settings, but yes do preach that the church age is ended and that we are in the Great Tribulation and depart out.

Your Brother in Christ,

A:  Dear Friend,

Thank you for your comments it is always a wonderful blessing to hear from a person in Africa.

As far as not seeing multitudes being saved in Mumbai, I think you have to keep in mind that God is working in these days primarily through the electronic medium. That is, people can be listening to their radios or visiting internet cafes and so on and God can be working in many people's lives in your very city but since God's plan in these days is not to gather them together in churches how could you ever know how many people in your city were being saved?

Please do not base your expectations upon how many fellowships you see springing up (or lack thereof) because God is not establishing fellowhships in our day as He did churches during the church age. The vast majority of individuals that God will save during these days of the latter rain will not be part of fellowships. But they will be individuals here and there throughout the world (note: here and there amongst 6 plus billion is a great multitude).

As far as 2011, there is nothing in the Bible that prohibits looking for the timing of Christ's return. Actually, on the contrary the Bible encourages believers to be "looking for and hasting unto the coming day of the God". Much evidence points to 2011, I would ask that you check it out in the Bible and see if these things are so.

May God's perfect will be done,
Chris McCann
